Tahitian Pearls

The House of Georgia H., Andorra – A saga of jewels

Since its inception in 2009, the company Perleria de Tahiti has become a jewelry brand specializing in Tahitian black pearls and created the House of Georgia H., which also distributes jewelry collections from Fabergé, Markus Schmidt and Annamaria Cammilli. The Georgia H. / Perleria de Tahiti boutique is located in the capital of the Principality of Andorra, Andorra la Vella.

Laurent Pereira’s epiphany

Humble beginnings: An awakening interest in Tahitian black pearls

Today, Laurent Pereira founder of Perleria de Tahiti, works as a jeweler in Andorra. His story began in Bora-Bora, a paradise island in French Polynesia where he discovered a gem like no other - the famous Tahitian black pearl. Fascinated, he fell in love with this very rare natural gem and, from that moment on, devoted his time to becoming a jeweler.

During his 5-year professional journey, he learned everything he could about the world of this extraordinary pearl, from cultivation to harvesting and including the rigorous selection methods used for manufacturing rings, bracelets and necklaces of the utmost quality.
Laurent Pereira’s fascination with Tahitian black pearls propelled him on a path of knowledge. Pereira acquired a solid experience in the field under the tutelage of the famous businessman Robert Wan, the pioneer of the oyster farming industry.

Robert Wan’s contribution to Georgia H. / Perleria de Tahiti

Much like Laurent Pereira, Robert Wan had an eclectic professional journey before discovering his passion for the Japanese cultured pearl industry. Wan completed his apprenticeship in Japan before his first attempts at harvesting pearls in the most famous place for Tahitian black pearls on the planet: the Marutea Atoll Lagoon, located in the Tuamotu archipelago, approximately 932 miles east of Tahiti. Tahiti’s cultured pearls quickly became the most prized natural French gem in the world of high jewelry.

Charlotte Hervé: artistic director of Georgia H. / Perleria de Tahiti

After extensive training with Robert Wan, Laurent Pereira returned to Europe and founded Perleria de Tahiti and opened a concept store near Avenue Meritxell, Andorra’s famous luxury shopping district. Charlotte Hervé became artistic director of Perleria de Tahiti and then at the House of Georgia H., which was created a few years later. When Hervé and Pereira began collaborating, their intention was to make beautifully designed objects that showcase Tahitian black pearls. Today, Georgia H. / Perleria de Tahiti is Andorra’s foremost luxury jewelry brand whose values have been revived over the years to offer true opulence and refinement.

Over 300 varieties of pearls

This complementary duo quickly paved the way for a longstanding legacy. In just a few years, Georgia H. / Perleria de Tahiti became Europe’s must see destination for Tahitian black pearl jewelry. The brand’s renown grew in prestige and today people from around the world travel to Andorra to purchase unique jewelry, which is the fruit of a new, personalized approach to luxury combined with the team’s undeniable skills at sourcing and selecting the most magnificent Tahitian black pearls. The House of Georgia H. / Perleria de Tahiti houses more than 300 different types of pearls.
